Rob Speiden is an active member of the search and rescue (SAR) community and he has assisted with well over 570 searches since 1993. As a member of the Blacksburg Rescue Squad and the Search and Rescue Tracking Institute (SARTI), he responds to searches as a Tracking Specialist, Search Team Leader, and Search Mission Coordinator. He conducted his Natural Awareness Tracking School around the world for 25 years and authored three books: Tracker Training, Foundations for Awareness, Signcutting, and Tracking, and Pocket Guide to Human Tracking for SAR, which can be found at www.tracking-books.com. Rob is currently involved in graduate school to assist his research advancing the sciences of SAR tracking. Tracking 4-leggeds as much as 2-leggeds, Rob is also a Cybertracker Senior Tracker and Trailing Evaluator. He will join the Midwest Tracking Intensive to teach about human tracking concepts as well as trailing in general.
