Rebekah Lorewood

Pronouns: She/her
Rebekah grew up creek stomping, swimming and playing in the woods near her family’s plot of land in the countryside of Attica, Indiana. Leaving the country for the city, Rebekah went on to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English and minor in religious studies. Her thesis work, on and off stage, was based in local theatre here in Indianapolis. She’s taught yoga and meditation in the city for over a decade and holds a 200 hour yoga certification, along with a 100 hour prenatal yoga certification from Cityoga.
All the while, Rebekah maintained a deep love for the outdoors and broadening her knowledge of the natural world; like a metronome, this study has become a steady and grounding past-time that fills her spirit with song. It led her to complete her Indiana Master Naturalist Certification as well as find community in White Pine Wilderness Academy; somewhere to learn with folks who have an adoration for Mother Earth and ancestral skills.
She’s grateful to be outside and experiencing the innocence and unbridled spirits of children; and believes they are as much our teachers in this life as we are theirs. Her favorite memories at White Pine are being engaged in community with her son while building skills and learning how to better love the Earth.
