Fintan Klein

Assistant Instructor

  • Wilderness First Aid

Fintan’s nature connection started early, but his passion for primitive skills truly blossomed with his first summer camp at White Pine, when he was 10 years old. He spent the week with mentors learning about primitive trapping, and at the end of the week successfully harvested a chipmunk with a Paiute deadfall trap. That powerful introduction pulled Fintan into the primitive skills movement, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Moving to homeschooling in 2019, Fintan was able to dive deeper than ever into his personal connection to nature. He now puts much of his energy into practicing primitive skills, and connecting with practitioners and teachers around the world. He is so thankful for the unique opportunities he has found through White Pine, and for all of his mentors who continue to point him in the right direction!

His favorite thing to do is whatever happens to grab his attention next, and he has an uncanny ability to locate nearby chocolate chip cookies and other sweets.
